Welcome to the ACS homepage!
Antigonish Choral Society represents a group of talented and enthusiastic singers based in Antigonish County, Nova Scotia. Composed of mostly amateur singers, we learn and perform a range of choral music as we strive for a professional sound, bringing the beauty of choral music to our community.
The Antigonish Choral Society currently has one choir under its umbrella – the Antigonish Choral Ensemble (“ACE”). We hope to increase our contribution to the community by adding other groups and activities in the future.
Beginning in 2023, ACE rehearsals moved to Tuesday evenings from their usual Monday nights of the past. As in previous years, St. James United Church has kindly offered space for their rehearsals.

Performances
Performances happen throughout the year in various locations though ACE concerts most often use St James United Church as their venue.
Our Vision
A community choir with the goal of singing a variety of music, both in genre and range of difficulity. Some experience and an ability to read music is an asset, but not a necessity, as well as a willingness and ability to independently learn parts. The director will conduct an assessment to place voices and judge suitability for group singing. Attendance to weekly sessions is required. A regular concert performance is not the goal, but participation in musical events will be considered.
